Subject: My World Changed

From an retired soldier-Lanny Miller

My world changed on Tuesday. A flag now hangs outside my front door. I bring it in at night so darkness can not prevail over it. I care for it and make sure that it never touches the ground. Today and for a time it will hang at half mast. I drive with my car lights on. Day and night. I am wearing the colors of my Country Red, White and Blue. In my car I listen to talk radio. I use to listen to music and change the channels when the news came on. I listen to those who have been affected by Tuesdays attacks.

Sometimes I can not help the tears that come. I watch the news when I am home. I use to watch sitcoms and change channels when the news came on. I watch and listen to those who are searching for their loved ones. Sometimes I can not help the tears that come. I wondered on Tuesday where God was. I called to Him several times while watching the tragedy that unfolded. I heard others calling to Him as well I thought that He had taken a break from watching over us. Then, I happened to see God. . . He is wearing a Fireman's uniform. He is wearing a Policeman's uniform. He is wearing Doctor's scrubs. He is wearing Nurses scrubs. He is wearing jeans and T-shirts. His sleeves are rolled up. His hands are dirty. He is tireless in His search for survivors. He touched lives today. He is my neighbor. He is my friend. He is always with us. Did you see Him? I pray that you did and will say a prayer of thanks for you are alive today. God bless and keep you safe.
